Hi,
A friend of mine is a writer, and he's written a screenplay which an established producer has expressed interest in. The producer wants to buy the script rights for a "nominal amount" and then represent it to obtain funding. He says that is "standard procedure".
Any advice? My friend also wants to direct, but has limited directorial experience, and was perhaps wanting to wait another 6 months or so when he's completed a couple of short films.
Does anyone have any experience in matters like these?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU.
