Is it safe to go in the water yet??

I've already bought my upgrade to Vegas 6 and DVD 3 but I hadn't installed it because I was going to to wait until Gary Kleiner's new Companion came out. Now since I've been reading about the problems everyone is running into, I'm thinking maybe I might want to wait until Sony has fixed these issues. My question is, what about DVD3? Anyone had any problems they'd like to share? I'd really like to load it because I'd like to be able to burn dual layer DVD's so I can keep my quality high on longer projects. Anyway, thanks for your imput.

Only issue I've had with it is that it won't recognize my DVD burner. So, I can't burn with it, but other than that, it's a champ! :-)

That sucks big time. I've been reading the other threads and that
appears to be a fairly common problem. I haven't run into it yet but I wonder, what if anything is Sony doing to address this issue?? I don't know about anyone else but I don't need a DVD program that won't burn DVD's.

If you never use DVD Architect, it still comes with the AC-3 encoder you need if you want to do 5.1 surround-sound. The price of Vegas + DVD is less than the price of Vegas alone combined with the AC-3 encoder, so it's your better deal.
