Sure, laptops have more power and are portable, but they don't surpass desktops. You have way more storage capabilities in a tower, and you don't need to worry about your battery dying. Sure, you can add an external drive for storage, and plug it into the wall... but then it really isn't as portable. So you just spent a good chunk of change for nothing. They each have their uses and strengths, but using them in tandem makes it more convenient.
