Is it a bad idea to make feature films with the DVX100? (no widescreen)

Actually, it was played on a piano, but it sounded great.

Our wedding programs were in script form, with a red card stock cover connected with small brass brads.

Oh, that's just awesome.

Just wait 'til you guys see my wedding pictures. Ya know, after I get married.

After, ya know, I propose.

Which would be after saving up money for the ring.

Okay, so it'll be a while- but it's going to be awesome.

Well, we had stage directions and audience participation and everything scripted, so no one could say they didn't know what to do. It was in the script!

Anyway, not to put any pressure on you, but my proposal was in DVXuser 24p style! We went up to the Smoky Mountains, when the fall foliage was in full swing, and I said I wanted to get stock footage. She often helps me with that sort of thing, helping with framing, etc.. So, I found this lookout spot with a gorgeous background, during the magic hour, and then had her stand in front of the camera. Then I stepped it front and proposed on camera.

Oh, I've got plans- but she's been known to peruse these boards. So I can say no more.

So Brandon and TC are both making marriage plans? This sounds like a double-wedding... somebody call Ashton Kutcher before his show gets canceled.

. . . It's time to stop playing around here kiddies. I see a whole lot of this stuff every day- from forums to talking to film school kids and aspiring filmmakers. Everybody is the next big thing, nobody needs to put in the time and effort to learn this craft, distribution deals fall out of the sky for low budget films . . . You don't just 'get lucky' and make an amazing film- this isn't gambling here, it's time to wake up . . . If you find yourself getting angry with my statements, ask yourself if it's because I'm a jackass or if it's because maybe I'm at least a little bit right.

I agree with what TC has been saying, and also with many others on this thread.

It takes talent, skill, discipline and perserverance to be a successful filmmaker. Few have what it takes. That's why the "club" is so exclusive.

Anyone can come up with words and ideas. But it means nothing without action. I'm sure every single one of us can imagine that completed film, in our mind, in all of its grandiose amazement. It's like knowing the destination of your dream vacation. You won't just magically appear there. You've gotta know exactly how to get there. Mapquest will tell you how to get there. It's a similar concept with making a movie, except those turn-by-turn directions don't come nearly as easily.

If I thought that I could hinder the success of that show in any way, I would sign up today.
