Is DVXusers popularity a bad thing?

I am getting PMs from people who post inane useless threads of pure misinformed bashing.

Are we too big? like have been under the radar the last 4 years? and all of a sudden were not.....


now i am starting to understand Jarred's and barry's post about dropping the other cameras section.

The HVX forum is crazy man! i ignored it fo a while so as not to temp myslef with a HVX, but that i cant resist anylonger, its like fist ights galore in there.... but now its spilling into PM's.... and thats just rediculous.
 
Yeah, I dont venture too far from the livingroom, so I dunno about all that. HVX is nowhere in my future unless its on the big screen and I buy a ticket. :)
 
DVXUser has gotten big, but it is still the best community for independent fimmaking. The core members here are fantastic and the support and connections I have made are priceless.

I completely agree that it seems to have gotten a little big. I try to stick to the DVX areas, Audio, Cafe, & Film Discussion, but anytime I end up wandering a bit I all of a sudden see how large our community has gotten. What amazes me is that I was a lurker for a year before I first posted (and haven't stopped posting since), and now we have a lot of people who seem to just register without knowing a single thing.

I personally like that the other camera forum has been moved and we have refocused on what originally brought us together.

Thankfully, the misinformation doesn't sit here long before someone who knows what they're talking about blows it up.
 
Seriously, everyone just needs to ignore the camera vs. camera stuff. I guess if someone's PMing people with bashing, best thing to do is not respond at all.

But, it's okay to get into fist fights over other stuff. >=DDDDDDD

Nevermind. All this time and I didn't see it. --

Buy two awesome batteries and like many of us, you'd have one. ;o)

I actually think that Jarred, Barry, John and the rest do an excellent job of monitoring this site. I LOVED that they removed the other camera forum. I love all cameras (as we all do) but the DVX is what brings us all here. All the other goodies, like info, advice, good tidings, is just icing.

This site is very good for many reasons. After months of coming here, I feel like I've gotten to know many people here. But, this site is the best freaking resource on the web. BY THE WAY>>>I POSTED A WEDDING VIDEO QUESTION IN THE BUSINESS SECTION BECAUSE THATS WHERE IT BELONGED. BUT THE TRAFFIC THERE IS SLIGHT COMPARED TO THE CAFE. SO PLEASE CHECK OUT THE QUESTION AND GIVE ME SOME ADVICE!;o)

Where was I? Oh yeah, Jarred was onto something. Chances are, he had NO idea of the success of this forum. Like the rubics cube, this site probably just took off. And, we are all the beneficiaries. This site is free. This site is informative. And, this site is filled with some really cool and supportive people.

So, I for one am okay with it 'blowing up'. But, I am also very thankful that we have a team of moderators who are keeping this site in line. Kind of like a crew of mother ducks keeping the ducklings all in line. So, thanks...

yeah there are only a few ways to get a dvxuser tshirt.. the battery 2 pack, Come to a bootcamp, come to a DVXuser party, or buy me lunch :)

Yea in all honesty i was really pissedwhen i started this, some douche kept sending me PM's and it was annoying. But i agree with all of you. The core is still here and i feel liek no matter what happens we will always be here.

As a matter of fact, all the great technichal knolwedge i lerned here, helped me land a semi permanent Video production job at Bolt (dot) Com. So i thank you all!

oh i got this idea about how you and barry are like DVXuser.com celebrities, and like the KISS army, i unofficially started the Barry Green's Army campaign that died before it ever left the ground ..... but i still tought it would be funny to make up a Tshirt that was all graphics that said " Memeber of Barry Green's Army"

ok just a crazy idea but How about custom DVXuser Cuff links with matching Tie Clips, (agent Smith from matrix style) let me know I'll model 'em for ya (just jokin)
