Is a 7" on board monitor too large?

Hey guys,

I work a ton as a 1st AC. Depending on the production, every now and then they won't spring for an on board monitor or they're just willing to pay me a small kit fee if I bring my own.

With that said, the new 7" monitors from SmallHD look really nice. Would you operators/DP's out there mind having a 7" monitor on the camera? Is it too large? Would you prefer for your AC to use a standard 5.6" monitor?
 
i think 7" is doable. a 9 would be too big (though i see people doing it all the time)
 
7 inch is deffo not too big. Perfect size IMO. Anything larger mounted to the camera is too big I reckon. But hey, anything bigger than the camera LCD is a bonus...
 
My eyes have some mileage on them and 7" is the sweet spot for me. Anything bigger is too much on my camera, anything smaller is chore to look at.
 
Is the monitor is for the AC or operator? I assume your asking about the AC's, in which case I'd often prefer they used a smaller size.
