is 6 weeks enough?

I'm working on a tentative scheduling and I've scheduled post-production for 6 weeks. Is that too short for a 90 minute drama without any special effects, car chases etc?

Re: is 6 weeks enough?

First of all, it's great that you're actually scheduling editing. Too many filmmakers just say "whenever" and allow themselves as much as a year...even for a short!

6 weeks should be plenty of time for a basic edit. It just depends on how fast you are at editing, how many hours you put in each week, how much has been done in pre-production and how well the crew documented the shots. If you can get the footage logged and captured in a day then you'll be sitting pretty.

Thanks much!

I'm really trying hard to do "pre-pro" by the book. To Try to schedule as much as possible. Whoever said preproduction sucks was right but I've to get things done to avoid headaches during photography and post. I'm a first-timer so of course I'm going to make mistakes but I've given myself 5-6 months before filming begins so I can get things together. My tentative filming date is April 4th. I start post on April 18th and hope to have it done by May 31st.
