Is 5400RPM enough for external RAID?

Hello,

I am building a RAID system of 2 or 4 drives.. I'm thinking of getting those 2TB drives, which became available lately. Unfortunately they are al 5400RPM..


The system will look like:

MAC => FW800 => RAID

I wonder will 5400 be enough for editing HD and 2k, 3k footage in FCP? Or should I sacrifice space and go for 7200RPM 1TB drives?

No. first of all dont get 2 2TB drives. They are rated for speed not reliability. Get 1tb drives and I really wouldnt go less then 7200.
