iPod / iPhone for Semi-Wild Foley

Just started playing around with this on the last short I worked on and was curious if anyone else had tried it before.

If you want to record Foley in natural areas (WIFO), loading short sections of the movie on an iPod can be very useful to help you with sync. Since there's no moving parts it's dead silent as well, so you can watch it during the take.

Only real issue is the screen size, but the iPad might be a fantastic solution to this (still not sure if it's fanless or not though).

The Wife and Daughter bought me this for my iPhone. It's basically a heavy frame for the iPhone, and has a threaded base to attach to 'things'... like a tripod, or similar. The package I got also included a small microphone... don't know how good, but then it is an iPhone...

I use my macbook sometimes... But macbook is not that quite...

Other trick is to remember the ritm of actions (like steps, knocking...) but that's more fore people with ritm feeling.
