iPhone unlocked!

I hate AT&T so much that it would almost be worth it to me to pay to break the contract and take my iPhone to T-Mobile. But w/out an unlimited data plan, there's no point.

However, here's something crazy: One of my gf's coworkers took his iPhone to France. Now, when you set up an iPhone plan on AT&T it comes with unlimited data & so many minutes. But that's only for America. He used his phone in France and got his bill when he came back to the US. His bill? $250 for talking online and $1,500.00 for data. They charge 2 cents PER KILOBYTE DATA when roaming

Yea, there's been report of that happening. I think AT&T waived the charges for a few people when that happened. Your friend might want to take it up with them.

This looks really cool for people who hate AT&T, and still wanted the iPhone. If I owned it, I would definitely be happy about this. Great find.

A warning for people who have been hacking their phones, the 1.0.2 firmware will restore your phone and delete your backup, so backup your important shiznaz elsewhere

I don't think that's crazy... it's called roaming charges. of course it's going to be insanely expensive to use the iPhone abroad, just like it is insanely expensive to use any cell phone abroad. It's all in the fine print and for once this is not AT&T being unreasonable.
