I know this is geeky but...How many of you have unlocked your Iphones? Whats the difference between jail broken and unlocked? Pros/cons? What applications are the best?

Thanks in advance

Unlocked means you can use it on a different carrier than AT&T, jailbroken means you can use third party applications not created by Apple. Apple saw this trend and created the App store, so now you can buy applications from them.
I'm running a 2G iphone on T-mobile.

i have the 2G unlocked and jailbroken mostly because i need to in Canada to use the older model. It's cheaper that way plan-wise.

There are a few additional apps available for jailbroken phones, but now with the app store most of the stuff is on there.

Definitely make sure you are using firmware 2.1 it is so much better than 2.0.1
