iPhone nightmare - I can't wake up...

While mowing my lawn, I drove past a low branch on one of our trees and the branch grabbed the cord connecting my Bose Quit Comfort 2 headphones to my 16GB iPhone, pulling the cord off the headphones which dropped down under the mower deck, which pulled the iPhone along with it.

Here are the pieces that I could find:crybaby::

Hey! Just in time for the iPhone 3G!

Consider yourself lucky, an excuse to buy a new phone...

ut it sucks you lost all your info and contacts

Well the plan was to actually get the new one anyway, but my wife was going to get the old one (which is only 5 weeks old).

I really didn't loose any info as it is all backed up and synced with our server at work.

now we know that it doesn't stand being lawn mowed. What a mess. I'm sure you'll keep the next one far from any lawn mower.

Man, what a ridiculously fragile device. Apple ought to refund your money. Don't their engineers care about making a product that can stand up to real-world use...?

At least you have a good story out of it. Next time someone confesses to having destroyed an expensive chunk of hardware, you can shrug and say, hey, there was this time I ran over my iPhone with the lawnmower...

That looks like a piece of modern art, you should put it in a gallery.

One of our employees said the same thing. Maybe I'll at least mount the aluminum back with the apple logo on it. It should make one hell of a conversation piece.

I am definitely going to keep the remains in a box.

I concur, you could call it "iSmash"

on a more serious note, sorry to hear you loss, electronics nowadays do seem to be so fragile!

I remember this consumer mini-VHS camcorder I had years ago, I remember I dropped it so many times accidently (onto concrete), but it kept on ticking!

OMG! Did your iPhone damage the blades?! Aw, don't worry! I'm sure Hi-Toro makes replacement blades . . .

WOW that is one trashed phone. ANd I phone now with 3g !!!! Talk about living in the past :S

Looks like you rendered the warranty void.

Actually, I was quite surprised to learn that although they won't replace it for free, they will replace it for $249 which is still almost half of what I paid for it. And to be honest, I am considering doing that because the new phones will cost me and additional $15/mo. to get the same service that I have now. And if I want to take advantage of the Exchange Server option (which I would), my data package goes from $20/mo with the old phone, to $50/mo to have the new one - which really bums me out.:thumbdown

Well, at least it went out in a way that makes a good conversation.

Your Iphone could say it fought a lawnmower and went out. Surely better than the poor phone that fell in the toilet.

That is if phones could talk...

This sounds like a scene from one of those Final Destination movies, Brad.

I guess it was simply your iPhone's time to go...
