Next time have your iPad display a white picture with tracking markers on it.
That way you can get a faster track if not using mocha, and you will also get light on the hands of your subject.
You could use a color for keying vs masking, but the color will spill onto the hands.

Thanks for the tip! I guess I was worried the hand movement wouldn't look natural if my 'actress' wasn't really playing a video.
Tracking didn't cause me any pain, and it may not be a 100% solid track, but I think it worked for my half second clip I needed . . .
