Just got a small Gig from Wynn Casino and need to know about mostly the W9 form. The invoice I was told that I can get it from Office Depot or get it online like Quikbooks. Thanks in advance guys

They should be able to supply the form. You simply put your SS number on it and sign.

Congrats. These are standard business practices. Sounds like you will be a 1099 contract worker. Wynn will not be paying your income/SS taxes and you will need to report the earning to the irs and pay directly (either quarterly or at the end of the year).

Joe,

Note that this varies if you are operating as a corporation. Technically if you are corporate, you don't need a 1099. Many companies still issue them regardless, which doesn't really matter.

that's true if you have a corporation then you are (currently) exempt from needing to fill out 1099 forms. but a lot of companies have policies where they just issue to anyone so it doesn't really hurt you to sign it but it's not necessary and they may not know you have a corporation.

MrLaw,

The problem is if you use your SS number on the 1099 instead of your business EIN. If the company that pays you issues you a 1099 to your SS number, then you may have some "splanin" to do since you would be declaring the income through your corporation.
