Inverse chromakeyer?

Vegas's chromakeyer does a great job of making a selected colour transparent. But for some specialised shots, I need to do the inverse/reverse, i.e. keep a selected colour opaque (i.e. visible as normal) and make all other colours transparent.

Can anyone think of a way to do this? I'm pretty sure Chromakeyer can't do this by itself, but maybe some sequence of FX could do it? E.g. maybe Colour Corrector (or Colour Corrector Secondary) could somehow manipulate the image to turn all colours except one to a certain colour (effectively creating a two-colour image), followed by Chromakeyer? Sadly, my understanding of colour correction ain't great :(

??? I don't see an 'invert mask' option in Chroma Keyer. I do however see that option in the Mask Generator FX (referred to in the Chroma Keyer's Help screen) - I'll have a fiddle with that.

Hmm, I'll also play with Compositing Mode in the track properties - the relevant video will be in a separate track anyway.

Secondary Color Corrector can do this -- instead of changing a color's hue, you change it into an alpha channel. Then you can invert the mask if you want.

However, the results are not usually as clean as they would be with the chroma keyer.

Thanks, David, I'll give that a try too - I wasn't aware Secondary Color Corrector could be used to directly create alpha info.

My bad, i should have double checked like I usually do. Secondary color corrector is the window I was thinking of, but David is absolutely correct.

Thanx all, Secondary Color Corrector does indeed work (after I worked out the not-so-intuitive control screen).
