Hey everybody,
My name is Brad Semenoff and I've been lurking on this section of the forum for a bit and decided that I might as well introduce myself. I am a post sound editor for film and television based out of LA. I edit dialog, Foley and Sound Effects though I am focusing on dialog editing. I will also do some mixing in a pinch, though I try not to because I definitely don't have a mixing stage and I don't think that mixing films in a bedroom is good for anybody.

It seems like most people are into production sound so I think this is a great way for me to learn more about how the other all important part of audio for films works. Hopefully I will be able to contribute info on post sound editing so that I'm not being a leech.

Anyway, thanks so far for all of the useful information and I look forward to further posts.

Welcome aboard, Brad. I'll bet you have a slew of favorite VST plug-ins and other useful tidbids to share...

Congratulations on joining our guild, Michael

frankly, i'm a big fan of post sound weighing in their 2 shekels. I dont edit and rarely sit in on them. When i determine whats usable and whats not in the field, i'd like to know more about what manipulations post can do to clean up a track or bury certain ambiance. thx for coming aboard

Hey thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Michael, I use Pro Tools and as such don't ever use VST plug-ins. Most of the plugs that I use do have VST equivalents. One of my favorites is Multidynamics from Wavearts. I use it as a multi band expander for noise reduction. I have to re-iterate that I don't think mixing films in a bedroom is good for anybody, though I have done it from time to time.
