Hi everyone! First I would just like to say Hooray!!! My Dvx came last night and I'm excited. I got the last one from Ryan and EVS. I'm currently reading Barry's book which is great so far. I also want to officially introduce myself to the forum. I've been reading this forum for about 1 1/2 months and it is a great resource for people that aren't to familar with this camera and who need more information.
Now here's a little about me:

I'm 20 years old ( will be 21 on Nov. 1st ) and I currently live in MD. I have a wife of a year and a half with no kids.
I got interested in film /moviemaking after seeing some of my friends make some not so good action / fighting movies. I have been training in martial arts since I was a child. I started in Tae Kwon Do / Karate ( Yeah I know Korean vs. Japanese , but they teach everything to little kids ). Then I trained in Kuk Sool Won another Korean Art. At the moment I currently train in Wing Chun which I can say is my favorite and I'm over halfway done. Based upon this background I didn't feel that the fighting in the movies that they were making made me believe as a martial artist that it was at least movie real.

I currently work for the second largest law firm in the world ( DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP ) Wheew!! Boy is that long. Prior to that I worked for Apple Computers as there highest level Tech Support for Quicktime, Ipods, Itunes, Airport Express / Airport Extreme, and Mac OS. I don't have a lot of film background as you can see except for watching a lot of movies.

I currently Edit on Adobe Premiere and I have After Effects , Photoshop and Audition.

Well I guess that about sums it up. I look forward to many questions and great answers from you guys and hope that I would become a great resource to other new members just as you have become to me.

Wow, you work for a law firm and you are a shooter? An interesting pairing to say the least!

Welcome aboard; this is a great forum and you will find countless, valuable pieces of information and resources here.

Cool!
I've been peering in to the forum for quite some time myself and have just recently joined too.
I am still in saving mode, however, and can not yet afford a new camera. (I work with Canon optura and Canon ZR10 right now).

Congradulations man!
Hope to see your work soon.

Welcome!

Now stop reading the forum and go shoot something! (Much easier said than done.)

Welcome and congratulations. You said you're reading Barry Green's book. I don't want to ruin the ending for you, but the father of Master Ped isn't who you think it is.

I'm working on a short right now with a couple of my friends. It's a pretty basic storyline nothing mind blowing because I mainly want to test out the camera. I will definitely post it up once it's done though
