These seem designed for the OMB folks. Looks nice though. I'll be interested to hear the new "Kashmir™ Mic Preamps".

And the output is on a....
????? Connector?
????? @ what Level?
????? Balanced or Unbalanced?
....there is no XLR out. WTF over? When they said USB computer interface, they weren't kidding. But really, just a mini-stereo plug for the output. What were they thinking? ...
It looks to be a recorder more so than a mixer.
I can sell my MixPre + DR-40 combo and replace it with a MixPre-3.
You understand.
So I know this is a little premature as the device hasn't been tested or anything, but do you guys think it would be a noticeable upgrade to go from a tascam dr-60d ii to a mix-pre 3? I do mostly narrative work, and less noise would be much appreciated. Just not sure if it's worth the price jump when I need other things like lights and stabilizers and all that crap.
Personally I find the MixPre 6 to be very *very* tempting! But I won't buy it (or at least, I'll *try* to **not** buy it! ha), instead sticking with my Zoom F4. ... thus it is best I stay focused on the savings goal of a Sound Devices 633 which *would* represent a significant and worthwhile improvement over the Zoom F4.

I think the MixPre-3 would probably have less noise and mainly would be easier to work with.
...I wonder if these units will have the famous SD two-stage limiters ?
At least they have analog limiters which is perhaps their biggest advantage compared to the Zoom F4, for example......I wonder if these units will have the famous SD two-stage limiters ?
IronFilm: Any buyer in the roughly US$1K and under budget range now has a tough *tough* choice between:

What makes you think they are analog limiters, or in fact that it even has limiters? I haven't found anything that mentions limiters.
