I am camera and audio on this two person team and I am behind the camera and the other is the host asking question for sidewalk interviews. I dont know what mic to use with my dvx. I own a mk012 and a rode ntg2 but they are both wired and I don't think that would be real friendly.!? Does someone have an idea or recommendation.

News broadcast style maybe?:)

If you're talking about buying new stuff. I would get a wireless lavalier, and a Transmitter plug as well as a handheld mic. those 3 things. Use the wireless lav. on the host. and use the wireless handheld for him to put in front of his interviewees.

www.bswusa.com good place to search

Since you will be doing both video and audio, wireless is probably better option, but it may be tricky outdoors and without assistant. Just in case, bring in your MK-012, good wind screen and wires. MK-012 is sensitive to wind so vocal microphone like Shure SM58 for example will do much better job. Recording interviews, outdoors and by the street does not require high condenser quality. Resistance to wind and pop noises is much more important.

I didn't suggest ntg2 were no good. It all depends on many things like type of interview (with random people or on appointment), location, level of background noise, wind conditions etc. Since you won't have assistance, I was just suggesting wired option that will give you more freedom and convenience.

If you're going to interview random people, that pretty much eliminates lavalier as an option. You did not explain what exactly you plan to do.
