"Interview"

I was on apple.com tonight looking at some trailers and I came across Interview with Steve Buscemi.

I'm watching this thing and I can't help but notice a certain motion blur very similar to video. It had to have been shot on video. Does anyone know what camera was used?

also...it must have been on Mini DV because the colors are desaturated like woah.

35mm?? wow. Just watched the trailer and knowing how much Buscemi loves the DVX- I was sure this was some form of 24p video. What made him go back to film I wonder.

seems silly - but can anyone debunk the suggestion that the 35mm on imdb was a misprint?

A quick scan shows that the DP and camera operator (Visser, there are 2 listed) have worked together, but only on TV projects. Yes, I know TV projects are traditionally filmed and scanned. But, only the 1st camera assist has any experience on a 35mm project. Not only that - NO ONE is listed as a loader or clapper (one of those important things for film) and there's NO ONE listed in post for cine transfer. I dug through the behinds the scenes stuff and I couldn't see an image of the camera...

I'm not suggesting that Steve doesn't have the $$ for film, he was in Armageddon, but COME ON. You can get the same motion blur and range from a long list of HD/DV/HDV cameras and for MUCH CHEAPER. Not to mention the freedom that gives a director in not waisting costly film footage.

Really, I think it's digital b/c of the non-existent DOF. Look at the shots where you can see outside the window - the buildings across the street are still in focus. That does not suggest 35mm. Sorry.

Has Buscemi done any press for the film? Perhaps the question will be answered there.
