Interview mic

The re50 was brought up during my recent post about VO. No one mentioned the Senn md-46. I searched the archives, and at least one person prefers the 46. Are there any other opinions between these two. I would intend using it for interviews, seek low handling noise and want durability. Also my recollection from a past posting is that the slightly more expensive re50 N/DYM model is a little hotter than the standard re50??

What would be your fav outdoor wind protection for either unit?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

A foam windscreen or FatCat would be a wise investment, but I'm not certain how often you'd wind up using it. The RE-50's design makes it pretty resistant to even moderate wind, and a FatCat will draw the viewers attention to the mic.

Still, better to have it and not need it.
