interview fill

What do you guys use as a fill for your standard 3 point interview set up. This always seems to be my sticking point. Ill key with a small chimera (650), rim with a 150, and background with a 300. But what to do with the fill? Ive used bouce cards but it never seems to be enough (reflecting the key).

Ive been thinking of getting a kino or lite panel for a fill - something that falls off quickly. Any suggestions/thoughts ?

thanks

A silver or gold "Flexfill" type reflector should provide the "Heat " you need for most setups/interviews, when it comes to fill light...But a two bulb "Cool Light" Flo would be nice..
Richard can hook you up.....
Richard, how many referrals do I need to make, to "Beta Test" one of your 4 Bulb Flo lights, for say 10 years.. ???

I cant stop preaching about Kino Flos. they are great for some extra fill. Also try a bigger bounce card. I have had luck with picture framing supply stores and getting 4x8 sheets. It's big but it will help with fill.

If you move your key source a little more front and it's something soft (like a chimera) it should wrap your talent a little more eliminating the need for fill. This is generally what I do.

If you really like it to be filled in try bouncing another source into a white card instead of trying to kick back the key. Just watch for excess spill.

10 points for you, -10 for the one that mentioned kino flo's ;-)

what wrong with KINOs?
I have the "Cool Lights as well and they are pretty good. not a fan of the mirrored doors but nothing a little black wrap cant take care of

When there's a ;-) it means its a joke.

Sorry you don't like the mirrors. Overwhelmingly most customers do like them. Maybe two people said they removed them so far. You can just pry them off. They're only glued on.
