Interview / documentary

I'm looking into doing some corporate-type production and there is a series of effects that I want to use. I have not been able to find an "how to" guide on this message board or anywhere else so far for some of those effects.

Interview title

I know that there is already some ready made title that you can use in an interview to present the person talking, but most of them are ugly.

I didn't find any tutorial yet on how to create those via photoshop or any another software nor did I find a pack of custom made one.

Anyone knows where I could find one of those thing (or both?)

Basic animation

I'd need some animation to, for instance, underline or highlight some text on a still picture of a document.

Then, once the interesting part of the text is highlighted, I'd like everything, but that highlighted part, to get blurry and then for the highlighted text to get substantially bigger so the audience could read it.

Or, the document gets blurry and quotation marks and letters appear on the foreground one by one.

Would I do that in after affect (some of it I'm sure)? But can I do it in Premiere alone? Combination of both? If anybody knows how or knows a place where they do know how, it would be extremly appreciated.

Pan-scanning still picture

I've find some tutorials on that so it's not too bad. However, the more the merrier.

I'm looking for the sort of animation you see when they're making documentaries that only have still pictures and no actual footage (zoom in on the face of a soldier on some black and white picture).

Help and pointers appreciated.

You can do everything you listed in premiere, although some things maybe easier to with after effects.

1) you can make them in photoshop, and overlay them in premiere, but since you didn't provide specifics of exactly what you want to do, nobody can give you more precise help. Do searches for the terms "lower thirds" and "premiere" and "photoshop". There should be lots of tutorials online

2) several ways you can do this in premiere. You can animate using keyframes a layer and mask with transparency adjusted to simulate highlighting. You can do a similar approach to underlining. To make everything else blurry you can use masks or trackmatte. You could also dim the periperhy by using masks or a layer. To animate the amount blurriness, adjust the keyframes over time. To make the text bigger, scale it up using keyframes over time. I don't know of any good tutorials off hand but the basic approach is the same for everything, just use keyframes

3) search for "ken burns effect" and "premiere." There should be lots of tutorials as well. AE is better for this, because you have z-space and a camera with tools, but it's still quite easy to do in premiere

Thanks for the help it's been very useful.

English is not my first language so maybe that's why I can't find it, but I want a way for text to appear letter by letter, as if it was typed in.

I could do a title for every letter but that's just overly complicated.

It's mostly for quotation (à la Stephen Colbert, Daily Show).

... I want a way for text to appear letter by letter, as if it was typed in.

AE is better for this sort of thing because it has many kinds of text animators and presets, but you can still do it in premiere

One way would be to animate the crop effect (using keyframes) of the text layer. You would adjust the keyframe interpolation to make it smoother or more choppy to affect the timing (like a type writter or keyboard)

Another way would be to animate masks (using keyframes) to reveal the text layer
