Interview/Documentary project help

I'm putting together a short video for work, and before I get to the really important interviews, I'm hoping I can get some feedback as to how to improve on the results I am getting now. Do I need different lighting? Position the people differently? More cowbell?

Here is a link to some of the clips that we have right now:

These are all straight from the camera into Premiere, and then to vimeo, with no correction or change of the video or audio. I'm working on doing some color correction to the same series of clips to see if I can get better results.

Is there something I should be doing differently? So far I am pretty happy with the results compared to past video projects, but I know that this can be better, so please give me any suggestions you might have. The really important interviews are coming up later this week and next week.

Oh, I know that the focus is soft in the first shot, so you don't need to tell me about that one.

Thanks!

composition is pretty good. Maybe some more interesting backgrounds but not to bad. What would really set these off is some better lighting. Better ratios on the faces, some edge light and hair light, light the background, not so flat. I think that would help a lot. There is a lot to go into but I would start working with those points first.

OK, if you can give me a few specific pointers that would be helpful (or maybe a little bit more explanation as to what you mean by ratio's). The first couple were shot with just natural light as tests, after that we do have some lighting. I did make sure to have a light hitting them from behind (which I thought was the "hair light"), but if there is a better way to do this, please let me know. I am really much more of an audio guy than a video guy, so this is all somewhat new to me, but I do want to start doing this more regularly, so I am looking to learn as much as possible with this project, where the requirements are very low, before I do anything for a paid client with higher expectations.

View the video on my homepage look for the interviews of the company leaders. PLeasant lighting and not your standard corporate background. I am always looking for ways to make the standard interview more interesting to the viewer.

Depending on your subject you will want to experiment with your lighting but nice soft lighting with an easy hair light is never a bad idea.
