Interval photography on D100

I could have sworn the D100 offered this function, but it sure doesn't! So it looks like the only options are to buy an intervalometer (don't need it that bad) or capture via laptop. I don't have Nikon Capture and I'm running a Mac, so what are the options, exactly? Or if anyone has any other clever way of doing this, I'd love to hear.

Hey Doug, i'm pretty sure there is a version of the dvx with an inrwevalometer, but i know the b version doesn't have one.

HAHA oh man. I totally read that wrong.
My brain is gone from casting all day i think.
I was really confused why you were talking about timelapse with a dvx100 when i know you have better equipment than that. It all makes sense now.

Ah, I see... yeah, I don't even own a DVX anymore.

So far the best thing I've found is a $130 remote that will do it. I guess that'll have to be it.

You can get the requisite
Nikon Capture for your Mac. I've done tethered shoots on an iBook and a D200.

sell the d100 and buy the D200.
you dont even need to tether to a laptop, I have been doing this since day one with the D200.
the main reason I sold my d100 and bought the D200.

hey, I have both (d100 , d200)

you could just get the mb-d100 (grip with 10 pin connector) and the mc-36... Should run you a round $150-200 and not have to power a laptop in the field...

Does capture not work on mac? I thought it worked on both platforms but I don't have a mac so... i dunno.

Don't forget to go all manual and preset the white balance! If you HAVE to do an aperture priority (changing light situation) try to get the meter weighted on an area that is going to change gradually and look into gbdeflicker for post...

If you want to get into motion control... keep an eye on my youtube spot: www.youtube.com/milapse I'll continue to update my info...
