So, I have an internship at Universal Studios this Summer. I need to find a place to live (ideally in Burbank or Toluca Lake) that will be big enough for me, my wife, and my son, and will let us sign a month to month lease. Furnished would be nice as well. I found one place (Oakland Hills I think?) but it is a little pricey so I'd like to explore other options. Any ideas?

jhiv - don't get into ANYTHING that's pricey right now, it's a renter's market. Here in Santa Monica there are for rent signs everywhere and that wasn't true 2 years ago, and our landlord came down on our rent because he wants to keep us.
So pal, doesn't matter what city in LA you want to move into, you have options, lots of them. Look at westsiderentals website, you should be able to find something there. I found the place I am by walking around the area.
But seriously, you definitely should negociate the rent, there are way too many options, even with furnished apartments. Also take a look at vacation rentals on craigslist or short term apartment rentals. We found a very inexpensive vacation rental on craigslist to stay for a few weeks while we looked around for an apartment.
