International Travel and Insuring Equipment

Wasn't totally sure where to post this, but I'm a cinematographer and have upcoming international travel gigs. I'm going around Africa and need to insure my equipment because the chances of it getting stolen are fairly likely. I work professionally and my AAA insurance told me that their renter's insurance only covers equipment that I have for pleasure, etc, not professional equipment. Don't think I could "pretend" on this one because I write off my equipment for taxes, so don't want to be accused of insurance fraud. Does anyone have advice on the cheapest way to cover my equipment? I'd look at temporary (per travel) and also continuous coverage as options.
Thanks! And please forgive me and direct me if there is a better forum for this topic.

I'd check out Fractured Atlas for equipment insurance. I'm covered with them and they handle it worldwide (although I think they may exclude a few countries?) and are very affordable and generally a joy to deal with. Check out their web page, you can get a quote almost immediately for the gear you want to cover.

Although I wouldn't start off with "the chances of it getting stolen are fairly likely" :)

Hey thanks for the advice! Yeah, I wouldn't mention I'll be in danger and "high risk" haha. I'll look into Fractured Atlas.

check out InsureMyEquipment.com

i did extensive research about a year ago and decided that this company/plan was the best for me.

Really appreciate all the input fellas! Keep it comin :) Looks like Fractured Atlas is the cheapest so far. I'd really be insuring about $10-$15K of equipment, so nothing too major. InsureMyEquipment wasn't too much more so I'll have to compare the benefits.

Don't be lured into cheap rates, Google the company to make sure they actually payout in the event of loss or damage.
Makes all the difference in the world.
