NO Submission fees!
I am heavily involved in the ASEAN International Film Festival Awards show 2013. Aka.......AIFFA 2013
You may have seen some of my posts about my trip to do the forward scouting there in Malaysia. That being said, I encourage anyone with a finished feature film that wants REAL international laurels on their film poster to get ahold of me via PM.
A couple of caveats though:
- 60 min +
- "R" rating or lower. No drug use, no sexual scenes, no disrespect of any religion.
- Must have completed principle between Jan 1, 2012 until deadline of Feb 1, 2013.
- Can have been screened at other festivals or even online (cool, huh?)
If filmed outside the ASEAN region (Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Phillipines, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, and/or Myanmar), you are only eligible to submit for "Best Foreign Film". Any film primarily shot in the ASEAN region is eligible for all awards except "Best Foreign Film".
The only cost to you to submit is the postage (we are not using withoutabox), burning the 3 DVD's, and downloading the app and filling it out. I will post some pics of the press conference and related press clippings so you can see this is legitimate. We convinced them that to get serious inquiries......we needed to show you guys we are not just trying to make money off filmmakers like many festivals do. We want to get you international exposure.
Already attending the Festival:
Gary Levinsohn (Saving Private Ryan, Snakes on a Plane, Patriot)
Kymber Lim (Spider Man II, Into the Wild, Tron)
Christopher Chen (Iron Man II, Harry Potter)
If this was just like any other festival where you had to pay to submit, I wouldn't have bothered sharing it. But since this is fairly unique.....I wanted to share it with you.
Laurels being awarded:
Selection
Nomination (if nominated for an award......your food, lodging and intown transportation is covered for the duration of the festival)
Winner
PM for more info.
