Hey guys I am really having a hard time getting a handle on interlacing. Please let me explain. I tried watching tutorials on interlacing etc. and they make perfect sense. BUt my problem beings at the capture stage and the mixing of footage between Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4 via dynamic link. Please help. Problem Below
I use a DVX100b and do all my recording at 24p F5 on the presets. I capture my footage using my old panasonic camcorder.
While capturing the camcorder froze or something and I had to restart after a few minutes had already been captured. So its the same tape, same capture, same timeline but for some CRAZY reason I am getting 2 differnt interlacings.. Does that make sense. Picture Below
When I then do dynamic link into After Effects the footage still has the issue until I interpret the footage and guess 24p pulldown, the pulldown is dfferent from correct version, and when I put the correct pulldown its still doesnt fix the issue.
THEN, when I bring the guessed 24p pulldown footage back into Premire, though the interlacing is correct the footage is about 1 frame off the entire timeline.
Then I am confused as to how to export to DVD. Drop Frame, on drop frame, 23.976 .
AHHH, so manyy options. i would understand it if the computer doesnt throw oddballs into my path. PLEASE HELP
