interlacing on 24pa footage

i captured 24pa footage into FCP 5 using the 24p advanced pulldown easy setup preset and my footage became interlaced. what am i doing wrong?

You need to go into your capture presets, make a copy of the 24PA preset and name it something. then go to "edit" it, and select "progressive".

Ok... to the OP...

Are you SURE you captured it correctly? Are you SURE you shot 24pA?

Where is it now, that you SEE the interlacing?

On every frame?

Help us out... this shouldn't happen.

i think i figured it out... i reread the sticky and it said to capture at 29.97 and check off the advanced pulldown box. i did that and it seems to work well now. i am gonna do some more tests to be sure.

if your capturing at 29.97 without advanced pulldown you shot 24p ... if your capturing with advanced pulldown then its 24pa

also you might try putting the tape back in your camera and it will show you what format you shot in....
