Interlaced Footage

Hi, I'm relatively new here but I have a decent working knowledge of Premiere Pro. However, I'm having a major problem with my footage after I "capture" it into Premiere. In short, the footage looks interlaced and it is VERY noticeable. I fairly confident it has to do with how Premiere Pro handles the 2:3:3:2 pulldown but I don't exactly know what to do about it. How do I get Premiere to remove the sequence?

And if that isn't the problem, how can I make my footage not look interlaced without using the de-interlace feature inside Premiere Pro (because it causes a major decrease in quality)?

If it helps at all, my plans are to submit this footage to festivals and such, and unfortunately, the previous times I've done this, the interlaced footage looked horrible when projected on a large screen.

A number of questions come to mind.

What version of Premiere Pro are you using?

What camera shot the footage you are having difficulty with?

What mode was the camera set in?

Did you enable scene detect when you captured your footage?

Using de-interlace isn't the solution as you will take a 50% resolution hit.

Sorry about that, I meant to be more specific.

I was originally using Premiere Pro 1.5, but have since imported the footage into 2.0.

I shot with a DVX100b set in 24pa mode.

I DID use the 24pa preset when I started the project but the footage is still interlaced.

I didn't use scene detect.

Your help is GREATLY appreciated.
