Interface Look!

Is there an interface template to make AE 6.5 screen-look more like the 7 version? The 6.5 doesn't have the gray background and it looks rather scattered to me at least. Sorry if this seems shallow but I'm just curious.

Yep. Under preferences>user interface colors, there's an "interface brightness" slider that will let you get that nice 7.0-ish dark gray pallete color, and will change the text to white if you make it dark enough. Makes it easier on the eyes as well as looking cooler too.

This is on mac of course, not sure if PC has it or not.

You should buy a PC.

I have a PC. Its sitting right here next to me. I just use my 6 macs for the heavy lifting and leave the PC's for gaming and internet which they're good for (buahahahaha)

ps: don't start a flame war, i'm playin around.

Thanks Kai, forgot about this one...for the scattered look, i.e. the windows being all over the place, for that you have to upgrade to 7.

I don't know if its just me but there's so much more to the upgrade to AE7 than the difference in the interface.

Just about everything seems to be better in 7.

well, i haven't used it yet, but I am looking forward to the new graph editor and float. with that said, I might as well wait for 8 to come out next spring then update.

I would say the ability to work in true linear 32bit float is a huge factor for anyone doing compositing or color grading. Gotta love 32bit linear float processing. :)
