Interesting comment from Sidney Pollack

I watched an old interview with the late great Sydney Pollack. When he'd hunt for scripts he's look for one that either made him cry, laugh, or scared. He said a lot of good scripts were none of those things, instead they were earnest.

Earnest is nice, but it doesn't put people in movie theaters.
