Interesting budget monitor

Interesting but some specs say it has a waveform and others don't mention it and it doesn't appear in the awful promo video. Still very cheap though.

Looks similar to this one:

Seeing a lot of these budget monitors now for $150-$300. Feelworld, Aputure, Lilliput, etc. Software all looks similar, and like most electronics only a few factories are really making the core components and same software & panels looks to be getting repackaged from different brands.

It's about time, for something simple as a way to check focus and framing these look great. Glad the price has finally started to dip, there's no reason why these panels need to be over $1,000 from a parts perspective.

I'm guessing these won't properly monitor colors @ Luma 0-255? Also assuming they won't be super robust and will miss some features from higher end models, but hoping to see new offerings from SmallHD, Atomos, & Odyssey this year at more competitive price points and smaller sizes.

Agree, its all good and yes, there are only a handful of factories making the electronics. Gave a look at the video I posted, the monitoring seems quite good on this one.

Just posting this for those that don't realize that if you buy from cinemartin direct the postage and VAT fee is not included. It says 21% Spanish Vat and there is a 29 to 69 Euro shipping cost depending on where you are.

Ok chaps, I ordered one a few weeks back. I will report back on its performance but Cinemartin have reported they have just sold their monitor division to someone else. They will homour existing orders but I am curious as to who is the new owner?

Budget monitors have been hit and miss for me. In particular I have never used a professional Lilliput monitor that I liked. For some reason the color reporesentation tends to be waaaaay off the mark. Interesting enough, my very first Lilliput was a 10" consumer monitor that I had to plug in....no color issues whatsoever! I don't know why they ship the monitors without proper color. They do give you controls to manage the color but I literally spent hours trying to get a useable image and failed.

That being said I purchased a Neway 7" monitor a little while ago that I absolutely love. I think it was $300. I bought it through a deal that PersonalView set up and it has been a workhorse. I am currently using an Ikan 9" monitor which is very nice, but that is a $1000 + monitor brand new, but I bought mine used $600. I also have a Marshall 9" monitor which is a power pig, so much so that it is almost unusable in the field unless you have it plugged into AC or you are using a heavy duty Anton Bauer or Sony V Lock battery.
I like 9" monitors and there are no good (emphasis on good) low cost options available that I have been to able find.

In the 7" range there are lots and lots of good deals out there today. This offering seems pretty good and that is an amazing price. The page for the monitor says it can manage a 4K signal but I wonder if the HDMI port is 2.0 - Camera's with HDMI 2.0 outs are going to pose a bit of an issue for monitors moving forward as there are currently no monitors, other than the Atomos recording monitors, that can accommodate an HDMI 2.0 4K 60P signal.
