Ok, I'm interested in Purchasing a WIRELESS LAVALIER... preferrably UHF due to less interferance. I am a film student, short on money as usually...

I want to know what would be the Best Wireless Lavalier System to Purchase under $200... now by BEST, I mean priority in, "RANGE."

Also I'd like to know how good is the Sennheiser ew112PG2... i know that system is $499... and I've use Senheisser before and know they are great!

Anyways, if anyone has purchased a Wireless Lav system under $200 and experience the same great range that I could assume the Sennheiser ew112PG2 offers, please let me know which system to get...

thanks,
Sam

Well, first off, Shure wireless microphones are the best I've ever used. If you could find them for cheap, that'd be a great choice.
Another option would be for you to buy a wireless system made for guitars. I know Audio Technica makes a few of these for REALLY cheap. You'd have to buy an adapter from Radio Shack or you could simply buy the actual microphone separate and plug it in. Guitar Center sells both.

I did this recently (buying the separate mic) and it cost me about $150. It does work, believe me.

$200 is not going to get you much of a wireless mic system. Even the least expensive Shure system, the Performance Gear, is about $300 at B&H--and I'm guessing that the internal antennas on that system are going to limit your range. The Audio-Technica 1451 is a little cheaper, but it's a fixed-frequency system, so you can't change the channel if you're getting interference--it's probably going to have a little better range, though.

Both of those have an AC-powered receiver--I would be very surprised to see a battery-powered receiver anywhere near this price range...
