Interaction music video - Does anyone know how this is done

I've seen panorama type stills, I'm curious on the kit and workflow for video.

I used to shoot 360 virtual tours for a company - we used an 11 lens dodecahedron camera (every one was custom built) - these video streams would then get pumped into and saved onto this huge camera 'body' which was basically the size and weight of a Newtek Tricaster. Software was proprietary and controlled via USB based Playstation controller. We'd use a small monitor to check details, then use a set of sunglasses with a micro monitor over the right eye to (almost literally) keep an eye on the shot. Camera got mounted to this gyro on an A-frame that was connected to a backpack. After balancing it and loading the backpack up with the 'body' you could walk around wherever and control the entire thing from the Playstation controller while walking around. It was neat, and very futuristic, but clunky, heavy, took forever to balance, and, would just shred through hard drive space with the 11 video streams getting recorded. Footage would get brought into our custom NLE and 'wrapped' around a virtual sphere that was customized to each camera (since every camera was different, each virtual sphere had minor adjustments to account for this). So we'd have presets for each camera (you use camera 81 on a shoot, you have to use preset 81 or things come in a bit goofed up). The streams could get edited together, and exported in this wacky frame-size (like 720x6000 or some nonsense - we called it 'world view' because it showed everything - it looks like the bottom of the video that was posted), brought into FCP and AE for color correction and any additional tweaks we needed. Then exported and brought back into our system where we would finish it with a final 'wrap' around a sphere and export to our server. Nature Valley has an ad in a recent NatGeo that shows a silhouette of the gear over the GrandCanyon - I would imagine they are doing some work with Nature Valley in the near future.

There are a variety of those systems out there, but that was the one I worked on. I know another gig I did some work with shortly after that position involved a DSLR with this odd mirrored panoramic lens. We would only do static shots with that though, and I never got involved in their post workflow.
