Intensity Pro Problem

I am running the new FCS on an 8 Core. I use an Intensity Pro card to output my audio to powered speakers, HDMI to an HDTV and composite out to a Sony production monitor.

There are times when I power up my system and all works fine. Audio is good and I can hear the hum from my HDTV, along with the "HDMI2" indicator on the HDTV, even though the screen is black because I haven't opened FCP yet. When I open a project I lose both audio and video signal. Sometimes I have to restart 3 or 4 times to get it to work again. It happens less frequently with the new suite, but it still happens.

Any thoughts?

hi, i have the intensity pro with fcs2, hdmi to a sony hd monitor, but audio from the intensity pro to external speakers, not to the monitor. once you power up your mac and you hear the hum from the hdtv speakers, try listening to an itunes song. does audio play from the hdtv or from the mac's internal speaker? go to system's preference and set audio to intensity pro.

when you open up final cut, go to audio/video settings, and set audio playback to intensity pro. hope that helps.

Your output display is ground looped to your computer power, I had this happen with MacBooks. The sound/hum should get worse if you're moving the mouse cursor around, its noise leaks or based on the brightness of the picture displayed.

Either a ground connector became loose, or the PDU you're using is not sinus power clean output.
