Intel IMac- DVCPRO50 SDI interface

I' m looking for a broadcast standard IO interface for DVCPRO SDI output from a Panasonic deck. I work at a TV station that has not yet converted the newsroom to NLEs (yes, DVC to Beta).
I have FCE 3.5 running on an Intel IMac and I want to interface with the DVCPRO deck to teach myself the basics on Final Cut (deck was bought with SDI card for future server that has yet to appear). The final use will be broadcast.

What is the lowest cost digital interface (my purchase, not the stations')?

Also, I know this is only an output device, but has anyone purchased a Matrox MXO or read a review?

Thanks in advance.

AJA Io is the way to go, but you'll need Final Cut Pro to use it if you want SDI input. Otherwise you need FireWire input - how much is the FireWire board for that deck? Would be easier for a bunch of reasons.

Matrox MXO - not out as far as I can tell, even though product manager at NAB said due June. I haven't heard peep about it lately.

Thanks for the answer. The previous station owners bought the SDI cards to prepare for a future digital plant, and commercials/promos do play from servers; but news is still beta analog for playback. I have my personal DVX100, and use it for "close quarters"; but I can't play my mini dv tapes in this studio deck (not even with adapter), or bring my DVCPRO video into IMac digitally. I believe that 1394 cards for that deck are roughly $1500. With that card, will FCE accept DVCPRO50 or only DVCPRO25?
