They stole my DVX100A, I bought the B and would want to insure it against theft, damage, all the works. Does anybody know where? Links?

Just go through your normal insurance company that you use for everything else. Mine is Nationwide and it costs me like $20 for the year. They need to see the bill of sale, etc.

Be careful. If you use your cam for earning money, you need to tell your insurance agentthat, and the cost is usually higher. Don't tell them, and you might never collect on a claim when you need it.

I got a rider specifically for my camera on my renters insurance. They asked if I used it to make money and I told them not yet. It's insured now for anything I can think up. They try to get it fixed and if it can't be then it's replaced. I got $4k just in case. I'm lucy, I have USAA thanks to my dad. It costs about a buck a month? Made me feel a whole lot better hanging it off the back of a race bike doing 155 down the straightaway while I was hanging on with one hand and shooting with the other. (the instructor was taking it easy since I was on the back of his bike)

i have that through my moms renters insurance. and wow does it pay off.

vx1000= estimated 1500 dollar repair... got a check in 1 week

broken century optics lens= no problem

the good part came when my vx1000 was involved in combat with some kids skateboard and did a number on it. sent it to sony and the estimate was 3800. camera only insured for 3000. how i got a 3000 dollar check for an old vx1000 is beyond me. i dont think they researched how much that camera is worth...they took the original msrp or something from 1995 when the camera came out.

sold my century lens for 600

and bought my new dvx100b with cash cause i had insurance on old equipment.

insurance is a must
