Instructions how to use more than 2GB of ram in AE

Reading through the notes on the link it looks like some people have stability issues though. Just curious as I have 4gb under 32bit xp and am still figuring it all out.

Yeah I have 8.5 GB myself, I've wondered what that was all about.

No, it's Mac. So that article didn't help.

on the microsoft website there are instructions for allocating up to 3 GB for program memory in the boot.ini file for Xp Pro and windows 2000. i think server addition allows much more the largest amount of RAM that AE will use is 3 GB anyway. if you need faster rendering its best to look at multi cored machines or a network render farm.

I think I'll give the boot.ini 3gb switch a go. See if my laptop likes it.
