Instant HD workflow for letterboxed sd and squeeze mode?

I've watched the video but in the video when he applies instant hd there are still pillow bars on left side and right side. So my question is what would be the workflow for footage shot with dvx100b in letterbox mode and squeeze mode? I've read quite a few posts about instant hd here but still can't find what I'm looking for. Many people seem to say that Instant HD is good for uprezzing your letterboxed sd footage from your dvx to 16x9 ratio. What is the work flow for this also can this be applied to squeeze mode?

Once you lay your shot on the timeline and apply the plugin (Instant HD) there are a great number of options (what you can up or down-rez to). I wish I could explain it but I am away from my office (until Memorial Day, believe it or not) and do not have the product here on my laptop.

Best bet may be to download the trial version (which has full capability) and take it for a spin.
