Instant HD any benefit for big screen projection?

Let's say you have a low-res SD project which you have been invited to screen on a big screen at a festival.

Is there any advantage to using something like Red Giant's Instant HD to blow up the SD project and then have it printed to HDCAM? As opposed to just printing the SD project right to Betacam, for example.
 
Yes. The interpolation in Instant HD will provide better results than projecting 480 on a 1080 projector, and if the projector upresses internally, again, the Instant HD interpolation will be better than that.

If at all possible, though, I highly recommend you do a test to see the two different PROJECTED versions for yourself so you are sure to put your best foot forward. You should do everything you can to keep from being surprised on the day of.
