Hey, I tried installing The Curse of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango on my new PC, which is windows 7 64 bit and it says it will only work with a 32 bit PC........is there a way round this?

The compatibility thing doesn't really work either.....

The version compatibility mode is about the only thing which would help, unless the game publisher has a patch.

But those games are oooooooooold. There's probably not much you can do.

If you tried compatibility mode and it didn't work, try using a Virtual machine emulating xp (I guess you need the original installation cd), other than that I can't imagine anything.

Are you using your old install discs, or have you bought new releases? I know you can still buy games like Diablo 1, Warcraft 2 and Another World. Maybe they're more compatible?

i've gotten starcraft to work on 64 bit win 7, it's a lot of play around with compatibility mode. there are also older windows emulators out there, and dosbox for even older games.

I'm using the CD-Roms I bought off Ebay...the Monkey Island ones don't seem that old, and as for the Grim Fandango ones...haven't a clue.

MMMMMMMMMM what do you suggest? I will Google it actually.

I'm afraid I can't help with the whole installation/simulation thing.

However, I thought that the OP, and anyone else who is a fan of those old LucasArts/Sierra point-&-click comedy-adventure games would appreciate this link.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the site has been updated in two years, but it was set up by some writer/developers that repented the death of that genre and started creating some new games in that style. There are a couple of complete adventures in a hard-boiled comedy-noir style, starring detective Nick Bounty, and a demo of a zomb-com game called 'Nearly Departed'.

Have fun!

Get Steam from http://store.steampowered.com/

They have a ton of old games on there. And they also have the new and improved re-done Curse of Monkey Island! It's the same style only with 2010 graphics. Check out Monkey Island Adventures on facebook.

Oh and it keeps track of your game library so if you go to another computer you can install steam and download your games again.

Personally I remember being 10 years old and stuck in the cave in Indiana Jones: Last Crusade. I did beat Space Quest 3 and Loom though :Drogar-SunGlass(DBG
