Does anyone else here use Instagram?

If you do, please take a second to check mine out @kyranford

It doesn't look like I follow everyone back when looking at my followers to following ratio, but I actually always follow filmmakers back. Feel free to post your username!

ProPic or SmugSmug is the way to go for me. I think I have only one friend, who uses instagram but yet he waits the ProPic invite.

Instagram is, in my opinion, for those people who want to take photo and then make it look trendy with a bunch of pre-set filters that everyone else uses too. Nothing wrong with that, but I personally don't have much use for it.

Ahh come on. Sure there are those who believe they are taking incredible photos, but there's more to it. You just ignore that crap.

I use it to follow events, local gaffers, dps, friends who are out on the road, directors, producers, and more.

I also use it to keep people up to date with projects I am working on, places I've been, places I am at.

It's the "new facebook" without all the status updates and other crap. You just have to be selective with who you follow. It can be interesting and an incredibly powerful tool. Twitter but better.

I never got instagram. It seems like everyone believes they're great photographers with it, just because the filters make it look old and retro. Don't know many filmmakers that use it.

Not sure how this social networking aspect of it works, but I have facebook. Don't need more, like twitter or insta, or whatever else is out there.

I have definitely seen big-name DPs Instagram photos. I'm not anti-Instagram myself, I just don't care to use it.

Thank you. It's almost like you took my words right out of my mouth. I look at it the same exact way and use it for the same reasons. I followed you. Feel free to follow back. ;)

Yeah, a lot of people do believe that. The original purpose of Instagram was a photographical Twitter-- to share photos of things around you, what you're doing, etc. (May not be for everyone of course.) Then all these teenage girls started getting into it thinking they are amazing photographers by adding the vintage-looking filters to their H1-r3z iPhone photos. If you don't know many filmmakers that use it, you either don't know many filmmakers or are looking in the wrong direction.

Hipster filter.
