The new leader of Bolivia, in order to afford to pay for more teachers, just took a 50% pay cut and then asked his officials to do the same. :thumbsup:

One of the poorest countries in the world and the government officials are taking pay cuts to help educate its people. Whether it's just following thru on a campaign promise or not, you gotta wish there were more guys like this.

Have you heard of any similar stories like this? Isn't there a CEO who just pays himself a penny each year? Who is that guy?
 
Steve Jobs makes a dollar per year at Apple.

However,

He also owns 3.5 billion in Disney stock.
He's made tons of money in stock options at Apple.
They bought him a 50 million dollar jet as a gift.

Soo....sort of.
 
Bill Gates just tripled his foundation's funding to eradicate Tuburculosis. It went from 300 million to 900 million by 2015.
 
Yeah there are a few CEOs like that. Hey it's easy to be generous when you're already loaded. I'm not knocking what they're doing but just pointing out that no one in their right mind would be CEO of a company for no pay.

As far as leaders go, I want to be that kooky Kim Jong-il. Now here's a cat who knows how to use his power and have a few laughs along the way. I mean what's the point of being dictator if you don't?
 
I love this bolivian guy. Everything I read about the guy makes me wish we had leaders like him in north america.


I hear he is allowing the cultivation of coca again.

I wonder how long it is before we assasinate him and replace him with a puppet leader.
