I decided that since us DVXusers is a creative community, we should once in a while express ourselves, in the highest form possible namely that of Human language, voila Poetry. I’ll start the proverbial “ball” rolling:

When I breathe, I bleed [1]

“What is it that you want from me?
my words are but silent and my dreams but empty.

Speaking without words, and writing without ink,
My ships got to many holes, merely waiting to sink.

Tailor made straight jacket, but I can’t strap myself in,
I'm no mad man, but either way I can’t win.

Is it because, when I breathe I bleed,
all I wanted was to know why?”

Ok, Fin

Now guys and gals post your poems, (hopefully not as bleak as mine!)

Anhar Hussain Miah

[1] I think I said it first, though I’m not sure.

I can't believe I am about to do this but:

MAY-DECEMBER ROMANCE

The young bud blooms in her finest hour,
A kiss of gold brushes her leafy cheek.
This seed of spring stands next to an autumn flower,
She sways to him and dances meek.

She'll brush to him as the winds permit,
As she spies her house from nature's room.
His boughs are wrinkled and cracked a bit,
But graceful yet, and full of plumes'.

Early on seasons, play a trick
Where babe and elder compete with age,
But the year turns cold
And quick
the two, find their roots at a similar stage.

His stamen's firm and bears the fruit,
that feeds her pistil, she swallows whole.
The heavens dawn them natures suit
which they wear around them as a unified soul. ---Rickey Lee Meyer

Das Lied des Nasenbären

Es war einmal ein Nasenbär,
Der sagte "Liebe ist doch schwer!
Wenn bald ich keine Freundin find'
Ich werde geh'n, wo Huren sind!"

Er suchte sie...die Zeit vergeht...
Und schließlich war es doch zu spät
"Ich höre auf! Ich kann nicht mehr!"
sagte unser Nasenbär

Bei Nacht ging er zur Stadt; worauf
Fand er sich eine Frau zu kauf'
Jedoch die Hure sagt' ihm: "Kunde,
Ich kost' dreihundert Mark pro Stunde!"

Die Lehre jetzt ist nicht so schwer,
Nur hören auf den Nasenbär:
"Die Liebe lebt in aller Welt,
Wenn man hat Taschen voll von Geld!"

P.S (the German Poem, after I translated it on the net, it talks about "found a woman to purchase" ??, now THAT sounds interesting. Now I gotta learn German)

OK, I've been resisting the temptation since I first noticed this thread. I can't hold back any longer.

Pickled eggs in the corner store.
Candy, pops, chips, counter jar.
Eyes bright, mouth watering-
Reach in with hands, not tongs,
Fingers wading in vinegar and brine.
Grab me a pickled egg,
Pickled eggs, pickled eggs, pickled eggs!
I love to eat pickled eggs!

Me, too. I was dead tired when I wrote it, working mids. I doubt I'd be able to do it again. Now, I'd just sleep. Um...er...rest my eyes.

Terry thats deep stuff:

"Pickled eggs in the corner store

What this suggests is that, Terry believes feels that post-modern consumerism is killing the traditional "corner stores", so globalisation is effecting the once tight community.

Candy, pops, chips, counter jar

Note here Terry, exhumes, wonderful memories of days gone by, note the order from edible to not eatable Candy to counter jar, one functions for humans consumption the other for human function.

Eyes bright, mouth watering-
Reach in with hands, not tongs

Very Crucial point here, once again note the emotional state, of the individual prior to actually eating a la picked egg, the sheer expectation has driven Terry in to a heightened state of Nirvana, demonstrated by the Eyes and mouth watering. Also the use of Hands, means that he wants NO INTERMEDIATES between himself and his goal, he desires direct contact thus direct fulfilment.

Fingers wading in vinegar and brine.
Grab me a pickled egg,
Pickled eggs, pickled eggs, pickled eggs!
I love to eat pickled eggs!

Here we can see, the actual act in its glorious whole, what splendour!, the act of wading, (the search), the act of grabbing (the acquisition) , the act of triumpalsim, magnificent! Bravo Terry,

Anhar

:) yea, I guess you can find meaning in anything,

like for example, if normal people walk past a large rock, they're like

"yea, so wat?"

But nutters like me (maybe) would be more like:

"if we assume that Consciousness is something that can be purely manifested in either physical matter then nerve cells which are made up of atoms can possess an attribute known as consciousness. If that where the case then there is no reason as to why any other atoms can not possess a conscious. Since the laws of Physical state that one atom can not be no different to another atom. This would mean ultimately to except that we have a conscious, we would also have to except that any other objet can also have a consciousness (such as this rock here) but we know that is not true. Rocks do not feel love, hate or get angry."

PS (ok, so I stole and re-worded that from one of my essays) :)

Also your 1st poem rocked!!

<cracks knuckles and sighs> ok, time to get the ol' creative secretions flowing... I've not written a poem since poetry class in highschool.

Once, twice, everybody be nice,
Today is mother's day, time to roll the dice
Mother, I think here we go,
Your hard earned cash I'm gonna blow
Cartoni, a letus, and maybe a DVX'er batt.,
I need more cheese, Mom look at that!
Gaffled thy purse to Abel's I speed,
Support Rods and follow focus is what I need
And after all is said and done,
I'll still be your favorite son
Because with my much needed new toys,
I'll make a video, to show you the extent of love from your DVX using boy.

Ahhh. Now I feel so much better for getting that out. Though I must admit I don't know where that came from considering I'm in my late twenties and live on the opposite side of the world as my mom.
