Insane! Power everything and the kitchen sink from one v-mount.

So... are the links to V-mount and AB mounts in this thread still the way to go, or have something more fun / functional emerged since? I'm getting a wee bit tired of my cumbersome NP-F setup so I'd like to join the single battery fun :)

I'm looking into a solution like this (Anton Bauer Gold Mount Battery HDMI Splitter Power Station for DSLR Rail System)
to power my AF100 rig and Sound Devices PIX240 - can anyone confirm that this will work properly? Or recommend a similar product?

Sorry to leave you all hanging - still working out with the suppliers.

Okay, I have sorted out the Battery Pinch here;
I can get both the V-Mount and the Gold Mount at $192 USD including shipping to the USA, Canada, Germany, France, UK, Australia and New Zealand (and a few other places, but please contact me)
If enough people are interested I can negotiate a group buy price of $178 USD including shipping with a minimum of 10.

The shipping is DHL Express (not China Post or EMS like the other sellers) so it should get to you quickly.

PM me if you're interested and I'll set up a post to order it from.

Please keep in mind that I'm doing this at cost price for DVX forum members only.

Josh, did you ever follow through with this group buy? If so, would you considering doing another? I'll PM you...

We did end up getting a group buy with some local film-makers.
Of course, happy to sort out a 2nd one, or even to continue with the original single price ($192 USD) if people are interested.

Awesome - thanks!

So, anyone want in on this group buy? Can we get 10 of ya'all?? :)

BTW, Josh, did you get one? What do you think of it?

Yup, I picked one up of course!

I think it's definitely the best one out there in terms of inputs and outputs.
The only downside is that its only made "to go" with a camera which uses LP-E6 batteries.
I am getting the guys at Lanparte to make cables for the AF100 etc. so I'll keep you up to date on that (should only be an extra $10 or so).

The outputs are good and stable and the circuitry has redundant protections to stop damage to your equipment.
What I have noticed is that the battery will continue to drain if you leave it plugged in, which is a bit of a shame.
You can simply slide it out a little bit, but it's always a pain to forget that you had it in and you're only on 50% charge!

Everything else works as expected.

One thing to keep in mind is that I've seen some fakes going around on eBay.
Apparently these are some very nasty knockoffs which don't have stable output or circuit protection, so anyone taking this route please let me know as I will check with Lanparte to see if that seller is an authorized dealer.
Unfortunately they look exactly the same on the outside so it's pretty much impossible to tell from a picture.

All sounds great, Josh! Thanks! I did read some of the eBay listings where they describe the fakes and show the two circuit boards.

Yeah, if I can get the AF100 cable with it, please do. Also, can they make a cable for the Sound Devices PIX240?

I would also be interested in this Battery plate for my AF100 plus the cable to run it.

Would people suggest V-Mount or AB mount? I don't have a big pile of batteries yet and am not sure which to invest into.

Good timing. Send Josh (see above) a PM. I've been working with him for a few weeks to wrangle some gear from Lanparte. It's taking awhile though - communicating from the US to Australia to China and back (multiple times) takes days at a time! lol But I think we're getting close now.

I went with the Gold Mount, though I can't really say which is better or worse.

Now that the stock is up and confirmed I'm going to just put up a coupon code here for people to use to get the discounted price automatically:

Head on over here for the item itself: http://www.ozirigpro.com.au/lanparte-v-mount-power-supply-pinch-kit/
or http://www.ozirigpro.com.au/lanparte-gold-mount-power-supply-pinch/ for the Gold Mount version.
Throw in the coupon code "dvxpinch" when you get to the cart/checkout section.
This will reduce the Pinch to cost price and include free shipping.

Unfortunately the transaction has to go through in $AUD as a limitation of PayPal; but in this case it should only be a couple of dollars difference at most.
There's also an issue where the discount is only applied once per transaction... so if you're looking to get more than 1 pinch at a time then send me a PM and I'll sort out a separate coupon code for you.
You can add the AF100 cable to the order on the same page as the pinch; just select it as an extra option where it says "cables and adapters".

If there are enough people then I'll have to manually do the group buy coupon, but otherwise it's an instant saving of quite a bit and at least you're not worrying about waiting or trying to avoid the counterfeits on feeBay.
Also much less chasing around for everyone involved!

Any issues, it's probably quicker to just send me an e-mail: josh (at) ozirigpro (dot) com (dot) au
Mods: I've sent one of you guys a message to check this is all fine and dandy; I'm not making a cent from any of this!

Regarding the AF100 cable -- they've been ordered and should be here by Monday or Tuesday next week.
Currently going for $11 AUD each although if there's a demand for them (personally I have 12 people waiting for them, so I'm guessing they'd be pretty popular) I can pick them up in bulk to bring the price down a bit.

I had a previous supplier making them but they turned out to be a complete dud and kept telling me that they were sent when they didn't even have the right molds... ugh! This is the major delay DC was talking about.

AND... You will still need the AF100 "battery to DC" accessory -- this cable is literally just the right size for patching between the Lanparte Power Pinch and that DC port on the AF100 battery.
A "true" fix would mean building an entire battery and that would end up being a lot more expensive...
At the moment, it's essentially just a more professional version of what Erik Naso sorted out (http://eriknaso.com/projects/run-your-af-100-more-with-a-power-dock/)

Gold Mount versus V-Mount??
My money is on the Gold Mount, with the only reason being that I've found them to "stick" into the mounts better. Although that's just my personal preference; I've used both types with no issues at all.
Apart from the mount itself, both the pinch and the batteries you can find for them are exactly the same -- so there's no reason why one should cost more than another except that the seller is trying to gouge you, hah.

Just a word of warning to NOT buy the cinecity (proaim, etc) version of this plate. It looks just like the lanparte, and even has the built in HDMI splitter, but the output is not stable. As soon as you plug a couple of devices in the voltage drops erratically and considerably, often resulting in a "this battery can not be used" error on the GH2. It also doesn't supply enough current to reliably power a wireless HDMI system, and has given me intermittent problems with smallHD monitors. I've been burned by proaim gear before, and should have learned my lesson. Stick to the proven plate that other folks here have had luck with.

I can't really tell... does the Lanparte V-mount have a D-tap out for powering the Samurai with the dummy battery?

Yes, the battery has a D-Tap out.
It's an OEM of the Farseeing batteries (http://www.farseeingvideo.com/en/product.aspx?NewsCateId=1708&&ProductsCateID=1708) if you'd like to get some more of the specifications.

Whilst the Farseeing batteries are available in different capacities from 90Wh up to 190Wh as well as both the Anton Bauer and Sony V-Mount spec LanParte only offer the 130Wh Sony V-Mount battery as a bundle with this kit.
So if you need a higher or lower capacity or a different mount (or if you want to upgrade to the LCD version) you will have to purchase this as a separate option.

Has anyone found a D-tap to Sony L dummy battery adapter? I'd be using my anton bauer system with two cameras, so I'd rather not have to buy two AB mount plates in order to run the FS-100 with my monitor.

I could wire my own, but after my last soldering experience ended with some sparks, and a small fire I might not trust myself with wiring for a little bit!

@Lucas:

I've been using the HDMI spliter as postmaster use but i use A/B mount. I can power smallHD monitor, LED light, AJA Pro mini, Canon 7D *with the batter adapter* and it work all day. I can even double up A/B battery if i want to.

So that HDMI spliter is WORKING as advertised.

How did you put this setup together? Can the AB battery power up the FS100? I'm looking to try that with this:

but I was told I needed a dtap to NP-F adapter.
