Hey guys,
A couple questions about DVX audio settings. Trust me, I don't do my own audio.
But just so I know what the heck the Sound Tech is changing...
For XLR, he uses CH 1 Select set to Input 1, and CH 2 Select set to Input 2. Ok, in the section called "MIC Power +48v" he sets both of these to OFF?
1) My question: When does the MIC Power get set to OFF and when to ON?
On the front of the DVX, he set both Input 1 and Input 2 to LINE. In Barry's book it says:
"If you attach a device to the XLR input and you can't get satisfactory audio levels from it (like the audio is way too low, or way too loud) then try changing the setting of the LINE/MIC switch for that audio channel to get a better level match."
2) So this is a judgement call that the Sound Tech makes?
In the menu, MIC GAIN 1 and MIC GAIN 2 are default at -50db.
3) Changing one or both of these to -60db is another judgement call that the Sound Tech makes? Would changing one of these be something like "staggered tracks" for safety?
Thanks
