Info on .8x Wideangle Lens?

Does anyone know anything about a Panasonic .8x Wide-Angle with full zoom through? There's someone selling them on Ebay, who informed me that he'd been selling them for about a year, but I literally can find no trace of them anywhere on the internet. They are the exact same price as the .7x which only has partial zoom through, which I just bought, so I feel sort of foolish.

Thanks,

Stupidly, I was searching for that PART #, and not just panasonic .8x. Lazy googler that I am. Found all kinds of stuff. Strange that I'd never heard of it before.

Why is this lens worse than the century optics?

There's nothing wrong with the Panasonic .8x, as far as I know. It costs a little more than the Century .6, the Century is wider but the Panasonic is full zoom through.

The Century .7 costs about double the Panasonic .8, is much heavier but is also full zoom through.

I've purchased the Sony VCL-HG0872 0.8x Wide Angle Adapter from JR Music World, Alex at ext 1023 for about $375. I use it on BOTH a Sony Z1U and on the DVX100a. Works great with both cameras. Zoom through works fine, no noticeable light loss. Only fault with all large WA adapters I believe, is the inability to use a protection filter over the front element. I also have the Century .6 screw on and .6 bayonet for an XL1. They too work well, but can only support a partial zoom. I frankly can't see any optical difference from the Century and the Sony .8.

Abracadabra Films,

The quality of the Sony .8x for the FX1/ZU1 is quite good. But as a .8X it only increases the wide end only 20% while the Century .6X is double that at 40%. It is a trade-off, full zoom and only 20% wider or 40% wider and partial zoom, so it depends on the shot and your needs. I would agree that the resolution is similar: quite good.
