I want a 35mm adapter but can't afford one. Is buying a second hand 35mm adapter a good thing. What to look out for when buying one? I know this person who is selling his kit (dunno which one it is as yet). Should I even go after it? What about the deals on ebay?

With dslrs shooting shallow dot video and the upcoming af100, there are a ton of used adaptors available online. As long as your philosophy agrees with used equipment (mine does), than you would really benifit from aquiring an adaptor on the cheap. Look at the unit thoroughly. Is the achromatte scratched? Is the ground glass in good shape? What is the level of dust inside the unit? Do the mounts look worn out?

Don't be afraid to pass on one if it's not right, there are many more coming to the used market.
